Ensuring Data Integrity
- Back-up Techniques : Regularly check up, must be done on a schedule (King's College does it three times a day)
- Frequency of Saving : This is to save documents from power cuts and computer crashes
- Virus Protection Facility : This stops viruses, un ortharised access and stops anything that is not requested. This can be done with a fire wall. If a virus does get through the fire wall anti virus soft ware must be installed.
- UPS Surge Protector : Uninterrupted Power Supply is attached to the electrical circuit and protects the computer from spikes and surges. These protect the computer from blowing up when spikes or surges happen.

Threats to my Computer
Unauthorized Access : This is access to connect to or use a system without permission of the owner. This is also called hacking.
Internet & Email : This can be a threat because attachments with viruses can be sent to your Email. You should not open an attachment that you do not know who it's by. If you are on a website you can download a virus or it can download without the user knowing.
Viruses, Trojans & Spyware : These can harm your computer and are usually installed onto the computer without the uses knowing, these are used to get information from the users computer.
Power Failure : This can be a threat because if you are in the middle of doing anything on your computer and there is a power failure all of your saved work will be lost. This can corrupt your files.
Natural Disaster : This is a threat because it can destroy your computer which means all of your files and data will be lost. you need to keep your files in a physically safe position possibly in a high place.
Data Corruption : This is when the data is damaged and the computer can no longer read it. If this happens the computer will not be able to turn on.
Peer to Peer Access : Where a group of computers are connected to one network. this can be a threat because if one of the computers gets a virus the whole system will not work.
